Profile of Linda Paton
Linda Paton as far as she can remember has always been interested in drawing and painting.
A trained window dresser, she worked in many of the ladies fashion shops in St. Andrews and only dabbled in painting during this time until fate took a hand nearly five years ago when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
This condition meant that she could no longer work and to keep her mind occupied and active she picked up the brushes and started to paint again. She was accepted as a member of the St. Andrews Art Club and it was through their exhibitions that she sold a few of her paintings and won prizes in the various competitions they held.
This success spurred Linda on to having her first exhibition in Elie a few years ago year. She enjoyed meeting and chatting to the many people who came to the exhibition that she decided to continue with this. Linda has exhibited her paintings in St. Andrews, Elie and also at the Pittenweem Art Festival. Her paintings are also for sale in the Gloagburn Farm Shop in Perthshire.
Linda likes to paint in any kind of medium but her favourite is oils, which she says can bring strong colours and vibrancy to any painting. Linda once again is looking forward to exhibiting her art in 2015 and hopes to meet many new friends, as well as meeting up with long standing ones during her exhibitions.
